MD Consult, an online clinical reference tool used by many physicians, has been enhanced to allow physicians to answer clinical questions at the point of care. Search results for the most common queries are tailored to each stage of a diagnostic and clinical workup. The service also guides physicians who want to do more detailed searches and provides links to reference materials.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is using another clinical decision support tool, Epocrates, to deliver evidence-based research findings to physicians at the point of care. Epocrates provides AHRQ's "practical recommendations for effective care" as alerts on the mobile devices of its more than 500,000 users.
