Deduction rules changed for medical equipment
Determine whether you can deduct the cost of medical equipment upfront.

A: For calendar years 2010 and 2011, a business may immediately deduct up to 100% of the cost of up to $500,000 of new or used equipment, such as computers, medical equipment, and office furnishings. Furthermore, up to $250,000 of the $500,000 total can be deducted for leasehold improvements, such as expanding your current office or outfitting a new office.
