Coronavirus case numbers in the United States: SEPTEMBER 8 update

Data from the COVID tracking project on coronavirus cases, test results and more.

How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests.

Here’s the latest data, updated on September 8:

Positive tests: 6,275,874

Negative tests: 76,566,504

Cumulative hospitalized: 378,877

Current hospitalized patients: 32,002

Patient deaths: 181,328
