Data from the COVID tracking project on coronavirus cases, test results and more

How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests.

Here’s the latest data, updated on October 6:

Positive tests: 7,421,943

Negative tests: 97,208,125

Cumulative hospitalized: 415,085

Currently hospitalized: 30,099

Patient deaths: 202,040
