Data from the COVID tracking project on coronavirus cases, test results and more.

How many novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases were announced today?

The COVID Tracking Project is a volunteer effort to compile federal and state data in regards to new COVID-19 cases, including number of positive and negative tests.

Here’s the latest data, updated on August 19:

Positive tests: 5,457,824

Negative tests: 62,806,109

Pending tests: 4,412

Number of hospitalized patients:43,747

Patient deaths: 163,595
