Family doctors must recruit, even as early as high school, to find and encourage their successors. Steven P. Furr, MD, FAAFP, president of the American Academy of Family Physicians, explains why medical students need to experience the diversity of family medicine, and describes his favorite part about practicing that specialty. Furr discussed family medicine as part of a discussion about the 2024 Match.
